Equity Research Associate - Energy Transition & Infrastructure

We are seeking a Senior Equity Research Associate or VP to join our Energy Transition & Infrastructure team. Our Energy Transition & Infrastructure franchise sits at the intersection of several of the most important investment themes shaping global markets today, including AI-driven power demand growth, natural gas and LNG infrastructure expansion, grid modernization, electrification, renewable energy deployment, energy storage, distributed generation, and emerging energy technologies. The team provides investors with differentiated research across traditional energy infrastructure and next-generation power and industrial technologies.
The associate will be an integral member of the team and will work closely with the senior analyst to develop and market equity research products. The role requires strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, solid written and verbal communication skills, a drive for client interaction, a passion for the stock market, keen attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
The work environment emphasizes collaboration, coordination, and a shared knowledge base across the team, while equally valuing independence, initiative, idea generation, and a sense of ownership.
Ideal Candidate:
Our ideal candidate is fully licensed and has a minimum of three years of equity research or relevant industry experience, ideally in energy infrastructure, power, renewables, clean-energy technology, or a related industrial sector. The candidate should have a strong financial background and a desire to help develop and support research across a coverage universe that includes midstream and LNG infrastructure, power equipment and services, solar and energy storage, and emerging energy technologies. Strong accounting and finance skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a passion for the stock market, and the ability to contribute on a fast-paced equity research team are critical.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential to become a thought leader in the sector and increasingly take ownership of company coverage, client relationships, and research product development. The role offers significant visibility and direct exposure to institutional investors, corporate management teams and industry experts. The person can be located in either New York or Houston.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
A combination of strong analytical ability, writing skills, and technical knowledge in equity research, finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field, demonstrated through relevant work and educational experience, is required. Prior experience in energy infrastructure, utilities and power, renewables, industrial technology, or adjacent sectors is not required but would be beneficial. Candidates must have a clear and proven track record of achievement throughout their education and career. Other necessary attributes include:
A bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, data science, or a related field is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 up to $180,000 USD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)
VP, Equity Research Salary Range:
The salary range for this role is $200,000 up to $225,000 USD (subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)

- Building and maintaining detailed company financial and valuation models (IS/BS/CF)
- Analyzing financial statements and industry- and company-specific news
- Analyzing company filings (10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases) and management transcripts
- Writing equity research reports and, over time, formulating investment theses
- Utilizing alternative data, AI-enabled tools, and data science techniques to enhance research productivity and investment analysis
- Participating in site visits, management meetings, and industry events
- Maintaining and analyzing industry and company-level data
- Communicating investment recommendations to internal and external clients
- Developing tools and processes to gather and analyze industry and company news for timely client products and the team’s ongoing research
- Building industry, regulatory, and policy relationships to better assess sector trends and company-specific events

- Superior work ethic, self-motivated and the ability to work both collaboratively as well as independently
- Ability to systematically manage a heavy workload and meet stringent deadlines
- Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours
- Solid technology skills with robust knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and/or FactSet
- Demonstrated use of AI in the workplace
- Strong understanding of valuation methodologies including DCF, NAV, EV/EBITDA, dividend discount, and sum-of-the-parts approaches.
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into concise, actionable investment recommendations.
