About The Role
The asset management team will be responsible for solar and battery storage project intake during turnover, ensure technical and financial asset performance, billing for revenues, contracting and managing subcontractors for field services and troubleshooting, creating and maintaining the asset register, budgeting, repair and refurbishment plans and executive reporting (in conjunction with Accounting and Capital Markets teams).
Candidates must be located in the Boston / Greater Boston area and willing to work from the Boston office 2-3 times per week.
What You\'ll Do
- Manage P&L of operating assets against projected goals for revenue and expenses (bookkeeping by others).
- Oversee and drive revenue generation, customer acquisition/subscriptions vendors.
- Maintain the roster of company best practices and SOPs pertaining to Asset Management.
- Serve as the in-house expert and leader for the function.
- Be responsible for O&M RFPs, contract execution, performance and vendor relations.
- Oversee FP&A for performance optimization and executive/investor reporting on asset and portfolio performance (bookkeeping by others).
- Create strategic operation plans (2-year cycle), annual asset operation plans, annual budgets for operating assets, repair and refurbishment plans.
- Create, manage and maintain an asset register (identify and collaborate with internal teams to select the technology).
- Lead and manage a team of asset managers and field service technicians for:
- Reporting energy and environmental attributes to buyers, invoicing, monitoring AR.
- Manage lender/tax equity reporting, cash distributions, loan servicing, cash flow projections, etc. (bookkeeping by others).
- Ensure high-quality asset intake during turnover from construction.
- Assess, monitor, and manage risk across operations, including operational, commercial (credit/offtake), supplier, warranties, safety and environmental risk as per asset operation plans.
- Report and manage availability, runtime, asset condition and capacity utilization for energy, emissions, and related metrics.
- Establish and maintain documentation, configuration control, and decision trees for Levels of Service: (preventive & predictive maintenance; repair/refurbishment/replacement).
- Manage inventory of spares based on criticality and continuity; track failures and corrective actions.
- Manage insurance coverage for assets; coordinate with other teams.
- Establish emergency response plans and manage incident reporting and resolution.
- Bring down historical reports to support project financing efforts.
- Monitor, maintain physical and cybersecurity perimeters and respond to incidents.
- Other attendant responsibilities associated with similar senior managers and department leaders.
- Supervisory responsibilities: building and leading the Asset Management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or a related field; willingness to learn across disciplines.
- 15+ years of professional experience including significant leadership experience and stakeholder engagement.
- At least 10 years of experience managing electric power generation or real estate facilities in the U.S.
- At least 5 years of experience managing assets with non-recourse financing and tax credit investments.
- Strong ability to recruit, train, and motivate teams to peak performance.
- Analytical and presentation skills with strong verbal and business-writing abilities.
- Ability to design, implement and improve Asset Management platforms and reporting tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Working knowledge of accounting/ERP systems (NetSuite, Dynamics) and asset management systems (IBM Maximo, 3-Megawatt BluePoint, or other comparable ticketing/work order management systems).
- Familiarity with Building Energy Management Systems and SCADA for solar and storage projects (e.g., AlsoEnergy PowerTrack, PowerFactors, or Schneider Electrics EcoStruxure).
- Intellectual curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.
- Willingness to travel 25-30% for site visits as needed.
Nice To Have
- Familiarity or experience with wholesale or retail electricity markets or electricity trading; formal generator dispatch training from an ISO/RTO.
- Familiarity or experience with community solar projects.
- Experience deploying/managing a security or network operations center in the electricity domain.
The anticipated salary range is $200,000 - $225,000 per year + bonus. Compensation will be influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and relevant experience as outlined in the job description above.
