Product Engineer | Series A | Solar Renewable Energy | Sydney (CBD)| Onsite

About the client

Our client is a Series A renewable energy business making solar and battery storage available to Australian households at no upfront cost. They’ve raised significantly, they’re backed by serious investors, and they’re scaling their go-to-market and delivery functions now.

This client is a market disrupting, category creating model, where every household that joins becomes part of a distributed energy network.

That category doesn’t really exist here yet, which is exactly why they’re building it: cleaner power, a steadier grid, and access that isn’t gated by who can afford twenty thousand dollars upfront.

What you own

Three things need building — a customer platform that converts, installer workflows that hold up in the field, and a pile of working prototypes that need to become real software. You’d build features end to end across all of it. The senior developer owns architecture, infrastructure and security, which is deliberate: it means you spend your time building.

What you need

  • End-to-end ownership. You build features start to finish, not a ticket handed to you with the thinking already done.

  • Production discipline. You’ve taken prototype-grade code and turned it into something that can be trusted, with tests. You know the difference between working and shipped.

  • AI at full speed, with accountability. You use these tools daily. You also understand your own code in depth and can explain and defend every decision in it. You don’t get to outsource that.

  • Genuinely full stack. TypeScript, React, Node. Not backend with some frontend attached, and not the reverse.

  • Product instinct. You’ll be close to the people using this. You should care why a feature exists, not just that it’s specified.

  • Comfort without scaffolding. No QA function, no dedicated DevOps, a roadmap that moves. If that reads as a problem rather than an opportunity, this isn’t your role.

Helpful, not required

  • Python and Django alongside TypeScript
  • Terraform, Kubernetes, GitLab CI or Grafana
  • Energy, utilities, DER or climate tech
  • You’ve seen a company go from prototype to scale
