About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of C&I solar and projects located in Austin, Texas. 

The Project Manager will be responsible for full lifecycle project delivery and will work closely with a dedicated Project Construction Manager who leads field execution. This role will focus on overall project coordination, commercial management, permitting, interconnection, procurement, and stakeholder alignment to ensure successful project delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & Coordination

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of solar PV from notice to proceed through commissioning and closeout
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across various sites within Austin, Texas
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans
  • Coordinate closely with the Program Construction Manager to align field execution with project objectives
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance) and external partners (EOR, subcontractors, consultants)

Permitting, Interconnection & Compliance

  • Manage all permitting, environmental studies, and AHJ approvals
  • Lead utility interconnection processes, including applications, studies, and agreements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, including prevailing wage, domestic content, and public-sector program requirements
  • Ensure compliance with ERCOT regulations

Procurement & Contract Management

  • Lead procurement of major equipment (modules, inverters, trackers, BESS, transformers)
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor contracts, scopes, and performance
  • Support contract negotiations, change orders, and claims management

Construction Interface

  • Partner with the Project Construction Manager to monitor construction progress, quality, and schedule adherence
  • Support resolution of field issues, RFIs, and design changes
  • Ensure alignment between construction activities and project schedule, budget, and contractual requirements

Financial & Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, procurement, interconnection, and regulatory requirements
  • Support tax credit and incentive strategies, including ITC and safe harbor timing considerations

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, utilities, and key stakeholders
  • Lead project meetings, reporting, and executive updates
  • Maintain strong relationships with public-sector clients and local authorities

QualificationsRequired

  • 5–10+ years of project management experience in solar PV, BESS, or utility-scale energy projects
  • Proven experience delivering C&I projects
  • Strong understanding of EPC project delivery
  • Experience with utility interconnection and permitting processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Strong financial management skills (budgeting, forecasting, cost control)

Preferred

  • Experience with public-sector or federally funded projects
  • Familiarity with Austin Energy utility environment
  • Knowledge of federal compliance requirements (IRA, prevailing wage, domestic content)
  • PMP certification or equivalent
