Political Manager
Better Future Project (BFP) works to build a diverse, powerful, and democratic grassroots movement that will drive society to address climate change and its devastating effects, advancing a fair and fast transition beyond coal, oil, and gas toward an economy powered by renewable energy that equitably benefits all people. We do this work through three core "projects" that blend grassroots organizing with legislative advocacy and community engagement: 350 Mass, Make Polluters Pay, and Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW).
● The Make Polluters Pay campaign seeks to hold large fossil fuel companies accountable for climate damages through the creation of a climate change adaptation superfund that will prepare Massachusetts communities and infrastructure for future extreme weather events.
● 350 Mass is a grassroots climate action network, organized into local nodes, that runs campaigns promoting renewable energy and a just transition away from fossil fuels and to a clean energy economy.
● CREW develops neighborhood level resilience to extreme weather through education, service, and planning to support those most impacted by climate change.
The Better Future Project Political Manager will co-lead the Make Polluters Pay campaign, and be the lead staff support for 350 Mass legislative campaigns. The Political Manager also represents 350 Mass in coalitions and participates in coalition leadership with partner organizations. Strong candidates will have experience in grassroots organizing, managing and mobilizing coalitions, and in the legislative process, and explaining these to a general audience. This role serves as the primary contact with elected officials and facilitates connections between elected officials, the Make Polluters Pay coalition, and 350 Mass volunteers. The Political Manager will also lead the electoral work of 350 Mass Action.
