District Head (Project Coordinator)
Role Overview
The District Head (ICS Manager) will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of Beetle’s programmes at the district level, with a primary focus on effective ICS management, farmer enrolments, programme compliance, team coordination, and timely delivery of project activities. The role will provide overall direction to the project team, coordinate with farmers and key stakeholders, identify and address implementation risks, and ensure that programme requirements, documentation, reporting, and certification-related activities are completed effectively. The ICS Manager will also build relationships with government departments, NGOs, CSR organisations, and other local institutions to facilitate convergence and connect ICS farmers and villages with relevant government schemes and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the identification, verification, registration, and enrolment of farmers into the ICS and ensure generation and maintenance of registered farmer codes.
· Coordinate, oversee and monitor day-to-day implementation of all the Beetle projects across the district including regenagri programmes, carbon, programs, brand linked programs or any other project, ensuring activities are aligned with programme standards and timelines.
· Provide overall supervision and direction to the Project Agronomist, Document Officer, Regen Ambassadors, and other project field staff, ensuring timely, effective, and coordinated implementation of project activities.
· Plan, organize, and participate in farmer meetings, trainings, and awareness activities on regenerative agriculture, regenagri requirements, certification, other project requirements and technical updates.
· Ensure that project staff, farmers, and relevant field workers/labourers receive required programme-related training and are performing their assigned activities efficiently.
· Coordinate closely with the Project Agronomist, Document Officer, Regen Ambassadors, project farmers, and control farmers to ensure smooth implementation and effective farmer engagement.
· Monitor compliance with regenagri Standard requirements/ other project compliance requirements and identify, assess, and address project-level risks, gaps, and non-conformities in coordination with the project officers, state heads, leads and COO.
· Support monitoring of the procurement/purchase process, where required, to maintain the integrity, traceability, and identity of procured material.
· Oversee the collection, verification, and timely submission of farmer and project data, records, and documentation required for ICS and certification.
· Coordinate and conduct internal inspections, field verification, and corrective actions to ensure project readiness for external assessments and certification.
· Prepare, maintain, and submit monthly progress reports, MIS, and other programme reports in the prescribed formats and timelines.
· Provide regular updates on programme progress, farmer adoption, operational challenges, risks, and key field-level developments.
· Build strong relationships with farmers, field teams and proactively resolve operational issues to ensure smooth and timely programme delivery.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with government departments, local institutions, NGOs, CSR organizations, and other relevant networks to facilitate convergence, leverage government schemes and services, and connect project ICS farmers and villages with relevant development programmes and benefits.
Qualifications & Experience
· Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in farmer engagement, agricultural programmes, ICS management, certification, or field implementation.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing field teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders, preferably in sustainable/regenerative agriculture, organic, sustainability certification, or cotton programmes.
· Good understanding of farmer data management, field documentation, compliance requirements, and MIS/reporting systems.
· Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and team-management skills, with willingness to travel extensively within the project area.
