Financial Modeller (Renewables)
Barden are delighted to be partnering with our client, a growing renewable energy business, in their search for a Financial Modeller, based in Cork.
You will build and own the financial models behind investment decisions on new projects, from early-stage feasibility through to financial close. You will work alongside development, engineering, and commercial colleagues, so your numbers will help decide which projects go ahead and how they are funded.
“Our models sit at the centre of every decision we make on a new project. We need someone who can build them well, challenge the assumptions behind them, and explain the answer to colleagues who are not finance specialists.” - Head of Finance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Build and maintain project finance models for renewable development projects.
- Run scenarios and sensitivities to test returns, funding structures, and key risks.
- Support project valuations, bids, and investment papers for senior management.
- Partner with development, engineering, and commercial teams on assumptions and inputs.
- Work with lenders, advisers, and investors during financing processes.
- Keep models accurate, well documented, and easy for others to review.
ABOUT THE PERSON
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with around 4+ post-qualification experience.
- Strong financial modelling background, ideally in project finance, infrastructure, or energy.
- Advanced Excel skills, with a clear and disciplined approach to model structure.
- Confident presenting outputs to non-finance colleagues and senior stakeholders.
- Curious, organised, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
