Roles Summary / Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager / Senior Manager to join our growing ESG, Sustainability & Climate Risk Advisory team.

The Manager / Senior Manager will lead and manage client engagements across a range of industries, covering sustainability strategy, governance, materiality, ESG reporting, climate-related risks and opportunities, GHG accounting and sustainability implementation.

This role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, consulting judgement, project management, client engagement and team leadership. The successful candidate should be able to interpret sustainability requirements, translate them into practical business solutions, and guide clients from assessment through implementation.

The Manager / Senior Manager will also play an important role in reviewing the quality of project deliverables, coaching team members, developing proposals and supporting the continued growth of the ESG advisory practice.

Job Scope

  • Lead sustainability advisory engagements covering strategy, frameworks, policies, governance and implementation.
  • Lead materiality and double materiality assessments, including impact, risk and opportunity assessment.
  • Advise clients on ESG data governance, reporting processes and reporting readiness.
  • Lead sustainability and climate-related risk and opportunity assessments and support integration into ERM and business planning.
  • Lead climate scenario analysis and develop practical adaptation, mitigation and transition plans.
  • Oversee GHG inventories covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
  • Lead the preparation and review of sustainability and climate-related disclosures, including IFRS S1/S2, NSRF, Bursa Malaysia and GRI requirements.
  • Manage client engagements, including scope, timelines, budgets, resources, deliverable quality and client communications.
  • Review deliverables and provide technical guidance, coaching and development to project teams.
  • Support business development, proposal preparation, client pitches and relationship management.



Qualifications/Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, economics, finance, accounting, business, risk management or a related discipline.
  • Preferably 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, climate risk, sustainability reporting, risk management or advisory services, with demonstrated experience in managing projects and client engagements.
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, corporate sustainability, risk management or a related environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong working knowledge of sustainability and climate-related regulations, standards and frameworks, with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into practical recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge in several of the following areas:

- IFRS S1 and S2 / ISSB reporting;

- NSRF and Bursa Malaysia sustainability reporting requirements;

- GRI Standards;

- materiality and double materiality assessments;

- sustainability and climate-related risk and opportunity assessments;

- GHG accounting and the GHG Protocol;

- decarbonisation and transition planning;

- ESG data management and reporting controls.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise professional judgement and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities, deadlines and team members concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to review the work of others, provide constructive feedback and develop junior team members.
  • Commercial awareness and willingness to contribute to proposals, business development and client relationship management.
  • A growth mindset, strong sense of ownership and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Able and willing to travel within Malaysia and overseas, where required.
