Role: Project Manager 3 Location: San Jose, CA
Proven working experience in project management.
Strong leadership qualities and ability to manage teams.
Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
Proven experience working with Smart Building technologies, including hands-on knowledge of Power over Ethernet (PoE) lighting systems such as Molex CoreSync PoE Lighting solutions integrated with Cisco UPoE+ switches.
Experience managing or coordinating projects involving Mecho PoE Shading systems, including deployment of PoE gateways, motors, and integration with management platforms like SolarTrac for automated shading control.
Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and their integration with IoT devices for environmental monitoring and control.
Practical understanding of environmental sensors deployment and data utilization, including air quality sensors measuring CO2, particulate matter, VOCs, temperature, and humidity, often powered and networked via PoE.
Experience with energy metering and management solutions that leverage PoE infrastructure to optimize energy consumption, reduce carbon footprint, and support sustainability goals.
Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement secure, scalable, and energy-efficient smart building solutions that integrate lighting, shading, environmental sensing, and energy management on a unified IP network.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for PoE-powered smart building deployments, including compliance with IEEE 802.3bt standards and leveraging Cisco’s secure networking infrastructure for operational technology (OT) environments.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
