Climate Financial Analyst
The Role: As a Climate Financial Analyst, you will support the Sustainability Manager and the broader Finance Division in completing AASB S2 Climate Related Financial Disclosures and internal climate reporting. This role is crucial for delivering climate-related financial initiatives, including carbon accounting, emissions tracking, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced insurance environment.
Your New Team: You'll be joining the Group Finance team, specifically within the Sustainability function, reporting directly to the Sustainability Manager. Climate Financial Analyst

Key Responsibilities
- Support the continuous improvement and delivery of A&G's AASB S2 Climate Related Financial Disclosures.
- Engage with the business on climate and sustainability initiatives, focusing on data gathering and ownership.
- Establish internal controls and assurance processes for emissions data and climate scenario analysis.
- Assist in integrating climate data into financial planning and reporting frameworks.
- Support work streams related to external stakeholders, including auditors and consultants, to achieve best practice.
- Assist in developing quarterly progress updates for the executive leadership team.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to capture energy and carbon emissions into a digital reporting system.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in the regulatory landscape and Climate-Related financial reporting guidance.
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Sustainability.
- Demonstrated experience in data collation, analysis, and data quality control processes.
- Strong analytical skills, particularly with Power BI and large datasets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Extensive understanding and some experience in carbon accounting (preferred).
- Recent experience in sustainability, climate-related change, and financial services (highly regarded).
- Sound understanding of climate change issues and drivers, with a passion for sustainability and climate risk.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence diverse stakeholders collaboratively.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, simplifying complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.

- Assisting with work streams related to external stakeholders including auditors and consultants to strive for best practice initiatives
- Assist in the development of quarterly progress updates for the executive leadership team
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to drive the ongoing capture of energy and carbon emissions into a digital reporting system
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in regulatory landscape and Climate-Related financial reporting updated regulatory guidance
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Sustainability
- Demonstrated experience in data collation, analysis and data quality control processes
- Strong analytical skills with Power BI and large datasets
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Extensive understanding and some experience in the area of carbon accounting is preferred
- Recent experience in the field of sustainability, climate related change and financial services will be highly regarded
- Sound understanding of climate change issues and their drivers, as well as a demonstrated passion for sustainability and understanding climate risk
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence diverse stakeholders, delivering outcomes through a collaborative approach
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse audiences
