We are seeking a proactive and analytical Project Analyst to join our Onboarding & Connections team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Australia's energy transition, supporting the connection of new generation projects to the National Electricity Market while delivering meaningful insights that help drive strategic decision-making

About The Role

The Onboarding & Connections (O&C) division manages AEMO's end-to-end connection process for new participants and generators entering Australia's energy markets. Working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders, the team plays a critical role in enabling a reliable and sustainable energy future.

This role will suit a candidate that has a background in a similar Project Analyst role within the Energy, Infrastructure or large construction projects environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Monitor portfolio performance, timesheet compliance and resource utilisation
  • Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports and visual insights using Power BI and Excel
  • Support budget management, financial reporting and portfolio governance activities
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of project and portfolio data
  • Partner with project managers and stakeholders to provide meaningful reporting and analysis
  • Assist with aged debtor management and financial administration activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate reporting and enhance business performance


What You Will Bring To The Role

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (business, finance) essential
  • Experience in the Energy, Infrastructure or largescale construction environment essential
  • Experience in a similar Project Analyst role within a PMO or similar environment essential
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, reporting and visualisation tools
  • Capability in Power BI and Excel – visualisation tool development
  • Understanding of financial and accounting concepts
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative mindset and passion for continuous improvement
