Who is the ACF?

For over 60 years, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been Australia’s most respected voice for nature and climate. We are the national environment organisation committed to protecting our unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world.

ACF is inclusive, non-partisan, and proudly funded by the Australian community. Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, koalas snoozing in big old trees, or strong climate action, our dedicated community of more than half a million people are working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

In January 2026, ACF welcomed Adam Bandt as our new CEO - a dynamic and visionary leader stepping in at a time when nature and climate need us most. With deep experience and a fearless commitment to change, Adam’s energy and leadership will guide ACF into its next powerful chapter.

This is a thrilling time to join ACF as we build on a proud 60-year history and leap into the future with bold leadership, renewed momentum, and a passionate community behind us.

What’s the gig?

Our QLD Field Organiser will be working with leaders and community groups to deliver tactics that build power in QLD and nationally. We’ve got plans to win big for nature and climate and you’ll be leading the charge on the ground, in this outward facing role.

About you!

You are an engaging communicator who thrives on connecting with people, whether that’s over the phone, in person, or out in the community. You bring excellent written and verbal communication skills and you’re energised by the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life.

Highly confident with digital tools, you know how to use technology to deliver impactful events, tactics and supporter experiences. You enjoy showing others what’s possible and have experience inspiring, training, empowering and involving supporters, members or volunteers in community-led campaigns.

You understand the power of organised communities and have experience in mobilising people around shared purpose. You collaborate easily, adapt to different working styles, and bring warmth, flexibility and strong relationship-building skills to your team and the communities you work with.

You’re motivated by connecting with communities and encouraging them to take action. Being out and about is part of what you love, and you’re willing to work reasonable additional hours in the evenings or on weekends when required (with overtime compensated via time off in lieu). You also hold a valid driver’s licence to support travel needs in the role.

Why work with us?

You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.
