We're looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant for the Plus Grid Storage business and its grid-scale battery energy storage projects. You’ll provide financial analysis, management reporting, cash flow forecasting and funding support across the development, construction and operation of large-scale battery projects.

Working with finance, commercial, procurement and project delivery teams, you’ll support effective planning, governance and decision-making across this growing program. This is an opportunity to join a growing business delivering major battery energy storage projects that support the reliability and transition of the NSW electricity system.

You'll play a key role in ensuring financial information is accurate, meaningful and actionable, while helping to improve reporting, forecasting and financial controls in a dynamic, project-focused environment. Whether you're preparing monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting activities, coordinating funding processes or analysing financial performance, your work will help drive informed business outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitor expenditure, commitments, accruals and forecasts across a portfolio of grid-scale battery projects.
  • Support project funding requirements, governance processes and financial reporting through development, construction and operations.
  • Partner with commercial, procurement and project delivery teams to provide financial insight on project performance and key decisions.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, reporting and financial performance commentary.
  • Analyse variances, accruals, prepayments and project costs to provide meaningful business insights.
  • Develop and maintain short and medium-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes.
  • Develop and improve reporting tools, templates and financial controls.
  • Contribute to management reporting packs, reconciliations and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.

What you bring to the role

Our hiring decisions are not only based on your experience and skills, but your passion, attitude, and alignment to our core values.

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or progress towards completion) highly regarded.
  • Experience in management accounting, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction or other capital-intensive industries.
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP ECC6 and / or SAP S/4HANA
  • Strong analytical capability with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
