Aurex Constructors is seeking an experienced Proposals Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities during the tendering and pre-construction phases of Renewable Energy Solutions including power transmission, and Industrial Project Solutions across the oil and gas, chemicals, mining, metals, and thermal power sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, supplier sourcing, commercial evaluations, subcontractor engagement, and cost optimisation to support competitive and compliant tender submissions.


EDUCATION & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical and/or commercial discipline.
  • ECSA, CIPS, SAPICS, or related professional certification advantageous.
  • Minimum 10 years' procurement experience within engineering, construction, renewables, energy, mining, or oil & gas environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and relevant experience within the renewable energy equipment and services construction sector.
  • Proven experience in tender procurement, commercial negotiations, and supplier management.


PROCUREMENT EXPOSURE MUST INCLUDE:

  • Utility-scale solar PV projects.
  • Battery energy storage systems (BESS).
  • High voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) systems.
  • Substations and switchyards.
  • Electrical balance of plant (EBoP).
  • Strong understanding of proposals procurement and contract management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead procurement activities for bids, tenders, and proposals.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and procurement plans aligned with tender requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and OEMs.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, commercial terms, and contracts.
  • Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement governance, B-BBEE, and local content requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial, and Business Development teams.
  • Lead and mentor procurement personnel while driving continuous improvement.
