General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer

OVERVIEW

Attiic is a fast-growing home‐efficiency brand transforming how homeowners insulate, ventilate, and protect their homes. As we expand nationally, we are hiring our first in‐house General Counsel to build the legal function from the ground up. This is a rare, high‐impact opportunity for a business‐minded attorney who wants to take full ownership of the legal department, work directly for the CEO, and shape the company’s long‐term strategy.

This position is full-time, in-office at our Greenwood Village (DTC) headquarters. In‐house counsel registration option is available—no Colorado bar exam required as long as you can legally practice in Colorado.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Serve as Attiic’s sole in‐house attorney and primary legal advisor to the CEO, executive team, and all business units. 

• Build Attiic’s legal department infrastructure, including processes, templates, compliance frameworks, and risk‐mitigation systems. 

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements: vendor, customer, sales, installer, employment, licensing, partnership, and operations contracts. 

• Oversee insurance policies, risk exposure, and claims management. 

• Provide guidance on federal and state regulatory compliance, including construction, home improvement, advertising, consumer protection, and employment matters. 

• Support sales and installation operations by refining contracts, warranties, disclosures, and consumer policies. 

• Advise leadership on corporate governance, entity structuring, and expansion‐related compliance. 

• Manage outside counsel relationships and legal budget. 

• Develop internal policies, SOPs, templates, and controls to support a multi‐state expansion. 

• Train internal teams on contract standards, compliance requirements, and risk prevention. 

• Monitor upcoming regulatory changes and proactively guide the business.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. 

• Eligible for Colorado Registered In‐House Counsel (no exam required) or active Colorado Bar. 

• 5+ years of legal experience in general business law, corporate transactions, or commercial contracts. 

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills. 

• Ability to operate independently and build a legal department from scratch. 

• Excellent communication skills and business‐oriented judgment. 

• Comfortable in a fast‐paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience in construction, installation, home services, or home‐improvement sectors. 

• Prior in‐house counsel experience supporting sales, operations, or field teams. 

• Familiarity with consumer protection laws, warranties, advertising compliance, and multi‐state regulations.
