General Counsel

Position Overview

The General Counsel will serve as Attiic’s chief legal advisor and strategic business partner, overseeing all legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. This role requires a licensed attorney with strong experience in general business law and contract law. Preferred candidates will have experience supporting sales teams, installation companies, or organizations within the construction or home improvement industry. The ideal candidate will proactively mitigate risk, draft and negotiate agreements, manage insurance policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Attiic’s continued expansion as a leader in home efficiency solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary in-house legal counsel for Attiic and its affiliated entities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including vendor, customer, installer, licensing, employment, and partnership agreements.
• Recommend and oversee insurance policies
• Provide expert legal guidance on compliance, governance, employment law, consumer law, and risk management matters.
• Support sales operations by reviewing sales agreements, installation documents, warranties, and consumer-facing policies.
• Oversee outside counsel relationships and manage legal budgets for specialized legal needs.
• Develop and maintain internal contract templates, SOPs, policies, and compliance frameworks.
• Advise executive leadership on corporate governance, entity structuring, and policy creation.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws affecting construction, installation, marketing, and consumer protection.
• Support HR with employment agreements, NDAs, handbooks, and compliance-related documentation.
• Identify potential legal risks and provide practical business-friendly recommendations.
• Provide internal training on contracts, compliance procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Research and monitor legal and regulatory changes impacting company operations.

Qualifications

Required:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active Colorado State Bar membership, or eligible for in-house counsel registration.
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant legal experience specializing in general business law and contract law.
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of corporate insurance policies and ensure the company is adequately covered.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable business guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate legal risks and deliver practical solutions that support business objectives.

Preferred:

• Experience in the construction, installation, or home improvement industry.
• Prior in-house counsel experience supporting sales or field operations teams.
• Familiarity with consumer protection laws, warranties, advertising compliance, and related regulatory matters.
• Experience developing internal legal infrastructure and process improvements.

Working Conditions

In-office environment in Greenwood Village (Denver Metro – DTC). Standard business hours with flexibility based on business needs. Occasional travel may be needed to meet with installation partners, attend legal proceedings, or support operational initiatives. This role collaborates closely with company leadership, sales teams, operations, and external legal professionals.
