I'm looking for a technical co-founder (CTO) to rethink heating with me.


The short version: greenHeat builds compact data centers that fit into a building's boiler room - they compute, and their waste heat warms the building. The real lever is the software that schedules IT workloads around the building's heat demand (our Thermal-Aware Orchestrator, TAO). That's what I'm looking for you to own.


Why now: Two regulatory waves are opening the market in Germany - the Energy Efficiency Act (mandatory waste-heat use from 2026) and the Buildings Energy Act. The core R&D on TAO has already been reviewed and backed by Germany's research-grant program. We're at the threshold of our seed round.


What you'd own

The technical vision and the build of TAO - architecture, scheduling logic, optimization under thermal constraints, the edge runtime. You'd take it from prototype to a scalable platform, and later build the engineering team. You'd be my technical counterpart in front of investors and partners. Hands-on, not just roadmaps.


Who I'm looking for (honestly prioritized):

  • Real depth in distributed systems / platform architecture, proven in production (Kubernetes, event streaming, observability)
  • A solid foundation in mathematical optimization or control theory - you can learn the energy and heating domain with us, but bring that foundation
  • A founder's mindset: full-time, exclusive, willing to take on early risk
  • You still write code yourself, and you want to


Stack world: Go/Python, OR-Tools, Kafka/Flink, Kubernetes, TimescaleDB, EnergyPlus.


What I offer:

A genuine co-founder role with meaningful equity (with vesting, fair protection for both sides) — not an employee seat with a CTO label. This is pre-seed: cash starts below market and climbs through a salary ladder tied to funding milestones. In return, you shape the technical foundation of a company from the ground up — and work on something that saves CO₂ instead of producing it.


Based in Würzburg; remote works for the software itself, but I'll need you here for the moments that matter.


I'll be straight with you: I'm the founder, and I'm not looking for someone to work for me — I'm looking for someone to build this with me.
