Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager is the primary commercial point of contact and business development leader for distributor and installer partners across South Africa. This is a ground‑floor market entry opportunity — the selected candidate will be instrumental in building Atmoce's brand presence, channel ecosystem, and revenue foundation within South Africa. The role demands a self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, deep solar/storage market knowledge, and the ability to operate with both strategic vision and hands‑on execution.
The Manager will collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, Logistics, Finance, Legal, and Technical Engineering to deliver a best‑in‑class partner and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Market Entry & Business Development
• Lead Atmoce's commercial launch strategy in South Africa, including market mapping, regulatory landscape assessment, and competitive positioning.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard anchor distributors and Tier 1 installer partners to establish an initial revenue‑generating channel.
• Build and execute a go‑to‑market (GTM) plan tailored to South Africa’s local regulatory, cultural, and commercial environment.
• Establish Atmoce's brand presence through partnerships, trade associations, government incentive programs, and local industry events.
• Coordinate with Legal and Finance to support entity setup, import/export compliance, local tax considerations, and product homologation requirements for the South African market.
• Develop a 3‑year regional growth roadmap aligned with corporate revenue targets for South Africa.
Sales & Account Management
• Manage day‑to‑day communications with distributor and installer accounts across South Africa, ensuring availability of products and services to support the installer base.
• Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets set by company leadership.
• Execute all regional programs, promotional initiatives, and account management activities.
• Conduct monthly reviews of forecasts, inventory volumes, point‑of‑sale data, and order backlog with distributor partners.
• Gather total addressable market (TAM) data by distributor and installer; develop plans to capture increased market share per installer account.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of all customer interactions, pipeline activity, and account health metrics.
• Track and report KPIs to evaluate distributor and installer performance against agreed targets.
Training & Enablement
• Onboard new solar and storage installers within South Africa.
• Design and deliver tailored training programs on Atmoce technology, covering sales techniques, installation best practices, and customer service standards.
• Coordinate between installer operations teams and Atmoce's Technical Engineering resources to ensure a seamless installation experience.
• Represent Atmoce at regional events including trade shows, installer summits, and industry conferences across South Africa.
Operations & Supply Chain Coordination
• Partner with Operations to ensure Purchase Orders are fulfilled on time, minimizing product delays and maintaining channel availability.
• Manage distributor accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and reduce financial risk.
• Work closely with the Technical Team to fulfill all regulatory and importation compliance requirements specific to South Africa.
• Act as the regional voice on customer service needs in internal operational meetings.
Product & Market Intelligence
• Serve as the primary conduit for market intelligence from installer and distributor partners in South Africa.
• Solicit structured product feedback and participate in internal product development meetings.
• Represent South African installer requirements in product roadmap discussions.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and product positioning to inform Atmoce’s South Africa regional strategy.
Requirements
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a demonstrated track record managing key distributor and installer accounts.
• Proven success in market development — ideally having launched or grown a territory from early‑stage.
• Strong experience in solar, energy storage, or related clean‑energy sectors.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self‑motivated with the ability to operate independently in a virtual/remote office environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within South Africa and occasionally for international business travel.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a bias for action.
Preferred
• Experience working directly with solar/storage installers, EPC contractors, or licensed electricians within South Africa.
• Familiarity with South African energy regulations, net‑metering policies, and local incentive programs.
• Existing relationships with South‑African regional distributors or installer networks.
• Multilingual capabilities relevant to South Africa.
• Experience with new market/country entry, including regulatory, commercial, and cultural adaptation.
