Technical Director – Australia


A global wind energy technology company is seeking a Technical Director to lead its technical activities in Australia.


Acting as the senior technical interface between Australian customers and the company’s international engineering teams, you will provide technical leadership across project development, tendering, grid connection and delivery.


The position will be particularly suited to a senior wind or power-systems professional with strong Australian grid-compliance experience and the credibility to work directly with developers, network businesses, consultants and industry stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company’s technical activities and customer engagement in Australia.
  • Act as the primary technical interface between Australian clients and global headquarters.
  • Provide technical leadership across wind project development, tenders and delivery.
  • Advise on grid connection, grid compliance and project-specific connection risks.
  • Coordinate the resolution of complex engineering and grid-related issues.
  • Translate Australian technical standards and regulatory requirements for international engineering teams.


About You

  • Strong technical background within utility-scale wind energy.
  • Significant experience in engineering, grid connection or grid compliance.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Australian electricity market and connection process.
  • Experience engaging with AEMO, TNSPs, DNSPs and grid consultants.
  • Understanding of wind turbine technology and balance-of-plant interfaces.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, power systems or a related discipline.
