An international energy technology company is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to take a key role in delivering energy storage projects in Finland and abroad.
This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with technical ownership, bringing systems through testing, commissioning and customer handover. Your work will help balance electricity grids and enable greater use of renewable energy.
Your role
You’ll take technical responsibility for the final stages of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) projects, ensuring installations are integrated, tested and ready for operation.
Working at project sites in Finland and internationally, you’ll troubleshoot technical challenges, guide site teams and share practical feedback with development engineers to improve future installations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning and integrating energy storage systems on site.
- Performing electrical measurements, testing and inspections on low- and high-voltage equipment.
- Identifying, analyzing and resolving technical issues alongside engineering specialists.
- Carrying out maintenance in accordance with Finnish electrical standards.
- Acting as the responsible person for electrical work on Finnish projects and maintenance activities once holding the required S1 qualification.
- Checking installation and product quality, and initiating improvements.
- Preparing technical reports covering completed work, deviations and inspections.
- Guiding installers and supporting technicians on site.
- Participating in on-call and standby duties.
What you bring
You’re an experienced electrical professional who enjoys solving practical problems and taking ownership. You work confidently on your own, communicate clearly with colleagues and customers, and put safety at the center of your decisions.
You’ll bring:
- A degree in electrical engineering from a university of applied sciences, or a vocational qualification in the electrical field.
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical projects, ideally involving energy storage or high-voltage systems.
- Experience with PLC systems, such as Siemens, and embedded software.
- Strong knowledge of low- and high-voltage electrical installations.
- S1 qualification, or S2 qualification with a willingness to obtain S1.
- SFS 6000 and SFS 6001 qualifications.
- A valid SFS 6002 electrical safety card.
- An Occupational Safety Card and Tukes-approved safety training.
- EA1 first aid certification.
- ID06 and Valtti cards.
- A category B driving license.
- Good Finnish and English language skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites in Finland and abroad.
What’s in it for you?
Take ownership of technically challenging projects in a sector where your expertise has a direct impact. You’ll join an international team delivering battery storage solutions for electricity network operators, industrial customers and energy companies across Europe.
The package includes:
- Company car, tools, mobile phone and laptop.
- Unlimited access to an online training platform.
- Partial remote working where project responsibilities allow.
- A role offering responsibility, independence and opportunities to develop your technical expertise.
