We are currently recruiting a Senior Controller to join our team and contribute to key projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

Development & Construction Phase

  • Monitor and control capex deployment for projects in development and construction, tracking actual spend against approved budgets by WBS / cost element (PEPs).
  • Identify and report budget deviations during development and construction, proposing corrective actions to project and finance leadership.
  • Support financial closing processes for projects reaching Notice to Proceed (NTP) and Ready to Build (RTB) milestones.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) teams to align payment milestones and S-curve progress with financial data.
  • Support project financing processes, including financial model review, drawdown requests, and lender / covenant reporting during construction.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and funding requirement analyses for projects under development and construction.

Operational Phase

  • Lead financial controlling for assets once they reach commercial operation (COD), including monthly and quarterly P&L closing and variance analysis vs. budget.
  • Monitor cash position, CFADS / CAFD and distributions for operating assets, ensuring compliance with debt covenants and shareholder agreements.
  • Prepare management reporting packages (P&L, KPIs, budget vs. actual) for operating assets, for local leadership and corporate / regional finance.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management and O&M teams to ensure financial data reflects operational performance (availability, generation, revenue).
  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting exercises for operating assets in the Mexico portfolio.

Financial Reporting, Controls & Governance

  • Design, implement and monitor internal controls across the full project lifecycle (development, construction, operations), ensuring compliance with corporate policies and local regulations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on project- and asset-related financial matters.
  • Analyze financial risks associated with each project phase and present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Support finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including ERP and reporting tool enhancements.
  • Mentor and supervise junior controlling / finance team members.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Tax, Treasury and other corporate functions as required.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g., CPA, CFA or equivalent).
  • MBA or postgraduate finance qualification is a plus.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in financial controlling, FP&A or project finance, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure or construction industries.
  • Proven experience managing financial control across project development, construction and operational phases.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and BI / reporting tools (Power BI desirable).
  • Solid understanding of project finance structures, debt covenants and cash flow waterfall mechanics.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and the Mexican tax / regulatory framework.
  • Experience coordinating internal and external audits and internal control frameworks (SOX or similar).
