TIME COMMITMENT: Full time, Monday-Friday
ROLE DESCRIPTION
ATEC is a climate tech company that provides clean cooking solutions to households across the Global South. Our IoT-enabled electric induction stoves and biodigesters replace biomass-fueled cooking in Asia and Africa, while simultaneously generating fully digitized carbon credits and providing households at the base of the pyramid with access to global carbon markets. ATEC is decarbonising cooking through verifiable technology and solving a health problem that affects 1 in 2 people on the planet.
The PR and Communications Officer will implement ATEC’s global communications strategy, helping shape the way the company’s mission, impact and brand are presented to the world. The role is crucial in driving effective communication with media, partners, customers, stakeholders and the public, while ensuring consistency, credibility and alignment with ATEC’s narrative and purpose.
This position will be responsible for all public relations activities - developing compelling content for multiple channels, managing media interactions, and collaborating across company teams to strengthen ATEC’s reputation in the climate tech and social impact sectors. The PR and Communications Officer will serve as the champion for clear, transparent, and proactive messaging that supports ATEC’s growth, investor engagement, and mission delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Public Relations Strategy and Execution
Lead the implementation of ATEC’s public relations strategy to increase brand awareness and strengthen reputation
Build and maintain strong relationships with global media outlets, journalists, and influencers
Oversee the creation, timing, and distribution of press releases, statements, and official announcements
Communications Content Development
Develop PR and communications calendar for the planning, management and distribution of communications for ATEC
Write, edit and post compelling, credible content for use in PR campaigns, proposals, investor decks, reports and social media
Oversee production of visual and multimedia assets that support ATEC’s narrative and mission
Identify and promote key milestones, impact achievements, and strategic partnerships
Communications Management
Develop and coordinate clear, consistent messaging across all digital and traditional channels (website, social media, newsletters, publications, etc.)
Ensure accuracy and impact in all public-facing communications, including executive interviews, presentations, opinion pieces, and external reports
Support the CEO, leadership team, and spokespeople with media training and communications guidance
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal teams to capture stories, data, and insights that communicate ATEC’s impact
Engage partners, investors, regulators, and civil society groups with tailored communications initiatives
Manage ongoing stakeholder feedback and support reputation management activities
Crisis and Issues Communications
Develop and maintain protocols for crisis management and rapid response communications
Advise senior leadership on handling sensitive issues, responding quickly to media inquiries and incidents
Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing regular analysis to the CEO and International Leadership Team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
3+ years of professional experience in PR, communications, corporate affairs, or media relations roles (preferably with international scope).
Proven track record leading PR strategies and campaigns with successful outcomes.
Experience managing media relations and working with news organizations in multiple regions.
Demonstrated ability to develop high-impact written and visual content.
Familiarity with communications platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics.
Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to tone and detail.
Experience working in climate tech, sustainability, or social impact organizations is highly desirable
