About Asthalaxmi Innovations (AIPL)

AIPL focuses on fostering sustainable development in Northeast India through innovative financing mechanisms, technology solutions, and deep community involvement. We prioritise climate-smart solutions to address deforestation and economic instability in rural areas. Working on a 2000 ha. agroforestry project for generating carbon credits.


Our approach integrates:

  • Cutting-Edge Tech: Blockchain-based tokenisation and digital monitoring for transparency.
  • Regenerative Models: Large-scale bamboo forestry and afforestation.
  • Community Empowerment: Direct partnerships with Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).


The Role: Co-Founder (Finance & Investment)

This is a full-time, hybrid (onsite/remote) leadership role in India. You will be the architect of our capital strategy, ensuring that our vision for regenerative agriculture is backed by robust investment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Venture Fundraising: Lead the charge in securing investment from Angel Investors, Venture Capital (VC) firms, and Impact Funds.
  • Project Finance: Secure dedicated funding for large-scale Bamboo agroforestry projects across Northeast India and Bhutan (Green Bonds, Carbon Credit pre-financing).
  • Strategic Leadership: Work alongside the founding team to set objectives, oversee resource allocation, and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Partnership Building: Cultivate high-level relationships with stakeholders, government bodies, and international climate finance institutions.
  • Advocacy: Act as a primary voice for AIPL’s mission, driving both social impact and economic returns.


What You Bring to the Table:

  • Fundraising Expertise: A proven track record of scaling startups, navigating the VC landscape, and building organisational capacity.
  • Financial & Analytical Rigour: Ability to assess complex data and design impact-driven financial strategies.
  • Sales & Marketing Prowess: Exceptional communication skills to articulate a complex vision and attract top-tier global investment.
  • Climate Intelligence: A deep understanding of carbon markets, carbon credits, and sustainable development.
  • Leadership: A "founder mindset"—the ability to make high-stakes decisions and guide an organisation through rapid growth.


? Desired Qualifications

1. Educational Background

Top-tier Academic Record:

  • MBA from a premier institute (IIM, ISB, or international equivalent) or a Master’s degree in Finance, Sustainability, or Environmental Economics.
  • Specialised Certifications: CFA, CA, or certifications in ESG/Climate Finance are highly desirable.


2. Professional Experience

  • Investment & Finance: 8–12 years of experience in Investment Banking, Venture Capital, Private Equity, or Project Finance (preferably in Agriculture or Renewable Energy).
  • Sector Expertise: Proven understanding of Carbon Markets, Regenerative Agriculture, or Nature-Based Solutions (NbS).
  • Regional Insight: Familiarity with the socio-economic landscape of Northeast India or similar emerging markets is a significant plus.


3. Startup Scaling Track Record

  • 0 to 1 Journey: Experience as a founder, early employee, or core leader in a startup that has successfully scaled from ideation to Series A/B.
  • Fundraising Success: A documented history of preparing investor decks, managing due diligence, and successfully closing funding rounds.
  • Operational Grit: Ability to build organisational capacity, hire cross-functional teams, and manage resource allocation in a high-growth environment.

Quantum of Investment

Co-founders with Rs. 50L to Rs. 100L investment against equity (in case of individuals) and/or Debt (in case of an entity).
