Position Overview

The Director of Operations will lead and scale the company's operational infrastructure during a critical growth phase. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this hands-on role will oversee day-to-day operations, international logistics, project management, systems implementation, compliance, and process optimization across the organization.

This leader will drive operational execution while building scalable systems, teams, and workflows to support rapid expansion across domestic and international markets. The role requires a combination of strategic leadership and hands-on operational management, particularly within highly regulated logistics and supply chain environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership experience, expertise in global logistics and regulatory compliance, and a proven ability to build processes and teams in fast-paced, growth-stage organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Lead day-to-day operations, driving accountability, execution, and operational discipline across teams, systems, and workflows
  • Build and scale operational infrastructure to support rapid company growth and evolving service offerings
  • Define and track KPIs to measure operational performance, identify friction points, and support data-driven decision-making
  • Lead cross-functional operational initiatives tied to company growth objectives and strategic priorities
  • Partner closely with sales, finance, and executive leadership to ensure operational scalability and customer delivery excellence

International Logistics & Supply Chain

  • Oversee global logistics operations involving renewable energy technologies
  • Manage international shipment routing, customs clearance, freight coordination, and delivery execution globally
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping and environmental regulations
  • Coordinate transboundary movement approvals and regulatory notifications with government agencies and third-party partners
  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, recyclers, and logistics vendors globally

Systems, Process & Team Development

  • Drive ERP and operational workflow improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and visibility across the business.
  • Establish and maintain SOPs, internal controls, compliance procedures, and operational policies
  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing operational and project management teams
  • Support proposal development, project planning, budgeting, and operational forecasting

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate operational, logistical, and regulatory risks associated with hazardous materials handling and international waste movement
  • Ensure operational compliance with environmental, transportation, and safety standards
  • Partner with leadership on contract review, vendor agreements, and operational risk assessments

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of operations, logistics, or supply chain leadership experience in growth-stage or complex operational environments preferred
  • Deep understanding of international logistics, customs compliance, and hazardous materials shipping regulations
  • Proven experience implementing or optimizing operational systems
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership capabilities
  • Experience working with international freight forwarders, customs brokers, recyclers, and regulatory agencies
  • Excellent executive communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or related operational certifications preferred
