Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of interns to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

At Arup, the Program, Project and Commercial Management (PPCM) team leads project delivery and client communication to ensure seamless execution from inception through completion. The PPCM team guides the wider project to achieve an integrated and coordinated Total Design. Our team ensures that client requirements are understood, the project has the resources to deliver quality work, and that the deliverables address our client needs.

The Opportunity


  • Assist in the monitoring of the project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Assist in project coordination between various design and technical teams
  • Support in resolving design and project challenges with internal and external collaborators
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of client submittals, reports, presentations, analysis, guidelines, and project procedures
  • Prepare meeting minutes, presentation materials, organization charts, risk registers, trackers or other project documentation as needed
  • Support the creation of various management plans and reporting dashboards required for the project
  • Support the wider project team in resolution of client and collaborator comments
  • Develop, with the oversight of the Project Manager, change documentation or other contractual documents between the client and the project team
  • Prepare, track, and resolve requests for information (RFI) in liaison with the project team and the client to ensure the project team has the information required to complete the project
  • Support the Project Manager with project reporting, as the need arises
  • Support in the delivery of high quality, coordinated, on time deliverables that meet the project intent and client needs
  • Research and develop broad technical knowledge and awareness to facilitate management of technical teams
  • Apply project management techniques, systems, procedures, and tools to meet project objectives

  • Presenting at and leading internal meetings
  • Document sharing and other software platforms used in the delivery of projects
  • Project controls used on projects
  • Arup internal management processes and procedures


Qualifications


  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a relevant field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Curiosity about infrastructure and buildings projects
  • Professional demeanor
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills needed for team-based working
  • Excellent planning, organization and workload prioritization skills required for our fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to tackle new challenges
  • Able to work independently and as part of a large team
  • Able to identify when to seek direction or guidance from Project Managers
  • Able to think critically, and provide excellent customer service to stakeholders, as required
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future


Preferred

  • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals

Toronto Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $21 to $38 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level.Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
