The Opportunity Key Responsibilities Business Leadership & Growth
- Develop and implement the Energy business strategy for South Korea.
- Identify market opportunities within offshore wind, power transmission, renewable energy, hydrogen, energy transition, and industrial sectors.
- Lead client engagement and maintain strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
- Drive business development activities, including proposal preparation, tender submissions, and strategic pursuits.
- Achieve agreed business performance, revenue, profitability, and utilization targets.
- Provide senior oversight of project delivery across the Energy portfolio.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, and to company's quality standards.
- Act as project manager, Technical Authority, or Lead consultant on major projects where appropriate.
- Support technical reviews and risk management processes.
- Foster innovation, digital delivery, and best practice adoption across projects.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Energy team.
- Establish a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with Arup values.
- Manage resource planning and workforce capability development.
- Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
- Coach project leaders and emerging technical specialists.
- Maintain and strengthen technical excellence within the Energy discipline.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across regions.
- Support development of technical standards, methodologies, and digital tools.
- Encourage research, innovation, and participation in professional industry activities.
- Represent company at industry conferences, technical forums, and client events.
- Monitor team workload, utilization, and financial performance.
- Support project commercial reviews and risk management activities.
- Contribute to annual business planning and forecasting.
- Ensure effective allocation of resources across projects and pursuits.
- Leadership and oversight of Energy sector projects, including:
- Offshore wind
- Offshore substations (OSS)
- High-voltage electrical systems
- Transmission & distribution
- Renewable energy projects
- Hydrogen and emerging energy technologies
- Energy advisory services
- Data centre power infrastructure (where applicable)

Is this role right for you? Candidate Requirements Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil, Maritime, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
- Chartership (or equivalent professional registration) is preferred.
- Typically 12+ years of relevant experience within the energy sector.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary energy projects.
- Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Experience leading teams and developing engineering professionals.
- Strong commercial awareness and project management capability.
- Strong understanding of energy infrastructure.
- Experience in offshore wind and renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with local regulations, design standards, permitting processes, and industry best practices.
- Ability to provide strategic technical direction across complex projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with a growth mindset.
- Commercially aware and client focused.
- Self-motivated and capable of operating effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Fluent in English and Korean, both written and spoken.
