Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.

We unveiled our first planned production aircraft, an electric vertical take-off and landing ("eVTOL") air taxi, called Midnight, in November 2022. In December 2024, we launched Archer Defense, to develop a next-generation aircraft for both defense and civilian applications. We are first and foremost working to commercialize our Midnight air taxi in and around major cities around the world.

We are seeking a Director of LA Infrastructure to lead the deployment of vertiports across the LA Market. In this critical role, you will oversee all aspects of LA vertiport development—from initial network planning to site construction & electrification —enabling Archer's American launch vision. Beyond new market expansion, you'll also drive localization of our infrastructure requirements with in-market partners including but not limited to vertiport design, air space integration and electrification.

Working with the Chief Infrastructure Officer and General Manager for Los Angeles, you'll deliver strategic planning, executive-level reporting, and coordination with local stakeholders to enable world-class vertiport networks. What you'll do:

  • Source and execution of strategic infrastructure partnerships across the LA market — including office, retail, and hospitality developments — to support Archer's go to market strategy
  • Lead and analyze a portfolio of future vertiport transactions to create appropriate acquisition, permitting, construction, and commissioning of vertiports for eVTOL operations
  • Product Manage, with internal and external stakeholders, the construction of vertiports and related products across the LA market on time, on budget and with superior quality
  • Provide infrastructure support including but not limited to airport integrations, regulatory certification and localizing of our standard infrastructure requirements
  • Create executive-level reporting and executive engagement at HQ to ensure that our LA vertiport portfolio aligns with the current brand vision
  • Facilitate and coordinate all phases of infrastructure deals, collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement and refine infrastructure processes to ensure world-class execution standards
  • Build and maintain a network of industry experts to gain insights on trends and opportunities

What you need:

  • 10+ years of experience in real estate development, construction management, facilities management in the aviation industry
  • Ability to travel to various Southern California markets
  • Strong financial modeling skills
  • Confidence in presenting to executive management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in schedule management tools, financial modeling software and Google Workspace
  • Proven site acquisition, build, commission track record; comfort with brownfield airports and/or urban real estate constraints.
  • Working knowledge of airspace and helipad interfaces and regulatory engagements and procedures supporting operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with permitting and building departments in the greater LA market
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company's business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $200,000 - $225,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
