Are you a force for good? Do you have a passion for user-centric design that shapes a digital experience? Does the opportunity to devote your talents to a cause much greater than yourself excite you? The Arbor Day Foundation is a place where you can do work that matters, with people who care. As we say at the Foundation: life is short, love where you work.

As one of the world's largest conservation organizations, the Arbor Day Foundation inspires people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. We help others understand and use trees as a solution to global issues (like air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty, and hunger) that are critical to survival.

The Arbor Day Foundation is seeking a UX Designer to join our Marketing and Communications team to work with internal and external partners to identify and solve user problems and improve end user experience with creative solutions that drive our brand and Foundation objectives forward.

You Have:

  • Passion. For the Foundation’s mission, nature, environmental stewardship, and people.

  • Experience. You know how to realize needle-moving user-centric digital design from concept through execution and have a strong portfolio of work to back it up. Our ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in UX design.

  • Skills. You have excellent technical execution skills and experience with tools such as UXPin, Sketch, InVision, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite as well as basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS and jQuery.

  • A user-first mindset. You are an advocate for the end user and continuously seek ways to improve their experience, through working knowledge in design for mobile and other devices and ensuring best practices are implemented for maximum accessibility.

  • Great work ethic. You’re self-driven and able to work independently or with a team. You figure things out and deliver systems of value.

You Will:

  • Create and execute user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and end-to-end UI/UX design that address marketing communication challenges.

  • Develop innovative and intuitive design solutions for significant features to meet users' needs while balancing organizational objectives and technical constraints.

  • Identify and employ a full range of research methods from concept validation to usability testing to eliminate points of friction and ensure user needs are met.

  • Create and revise high quality design layouts, graphics and visual solutions for web, apps and tools, digital advertising and email while keeping best practices top of mind.

  • Implement websites and applications in collaboration with the development team to ensure accessibility for all users by designing functions across browsers, platforms, and devices.

Love Where You Work:

  • We're in this together. A culture focused on a genuine interest in the wellbeing of others, collaboration, and the intrinsic shared purpose to do what's right. We pride ourselves on the culture we've built. We love it, and we know you will too.

  • We care about your health. We offer competitive healthcare (health, dental, vision) coverage for you and your loved ones matched with a wellness incentives program.

  • We invest in your future. Company paid short-term and long-term disability, life insurance and 401k with company match are available.

  • We want you to unplug when needed. We believe in taking your time off without guilt, including the week between Christmas and New Years that we close our Lincoln Campus to recharge.

  • We know the little things matter. Team members receive a monthly transportation stipend, a fully stocked kitchen, and access to a plethora of learning and development opportunities.

  • We'll round out the experience. We put our culture first, and we host events and experiences throughout the year to show that we care about you (and your family).
