As a Membrane Engineer, you will run and oversee membrane-related tests, translate experimental findings into clear insights for the team, and ensure that membrane performance is well understood within the system context. Working closely with the other departments within the R&D team and external partners, you will play a key role in connecting internal needs with external expertise, collaborating with academic and industry experts worldwide to guide membrane-related decisions and support progress toward scalable solutions.
- Design and run membrane tests to evaluate performance within the system
- Analyze results and translate findings into clear insights for the R&D team
- Ensure membrane behavior is well understood in the system context
- Collaborate with internal teams to link membrane performance to overall system outcomes
- Work with external partners (academic and industry) to guide membrane-related work
- Act as a bridge between internal needs and external expertise
- Track external progress and ensure relevant input into internal decisions
- Initiating new partnerships to develop the membrane
We expect from you:
- Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (focus on ion-exchange membrane technology preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with membranes or membrane-related processes
- Solid understanding of bipolar and ion exchange membranes in practice
- Hands-on experience with membrane testing and characterization
- Ability to translate experimental results into clear, actionable insights
- Experience working with external partners
- Strong communication and stakeholder alignment skills
- Structured, proactive approach in an R&D environment
- Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
