Job Description


Apex Clean Energy is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to play an integral and substantive role on the Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate is looking to join a tight-knit group of communications experts in a rapidly evolving field and is eager to collaborate with employees across a growing organization. This position is highly visible and will make a significant contribution to the company’s brand identity and narrative with internal and external audiences.


Qualifications


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Field company-wide and external requests for new and existing marketing collateral, Apex-branded materials, boilerplate language, logo, photography assets, and more
  • Oversee corporate marketing sponsorship duties for external conferences and events, including fielding inter- and cross-departmental requests, creation and maintenance of industry event calendar, coordinating shipments of materials, and processing invoices
  • Ensure all marketing materials are easily accessible, accurate, and kept up to date
  • Serve as member of corporate editing team for external-facing collateral, presentations, letters, and more
  • Coordinate design, sourcing, and delivery of company gifts and other branded company swag with outside vendors
  • With the VP of Marketing and Communications, Business and Workplace Manager, and others, assist in coordinating quarterly and annual offsite company meetings
  • Liaise with Apex’s DEI and Sustainability committees
  • Assist with content and production related to Apex’s corporate website, internal communications, and external email newsletter
  • Create purchase requisitions and reconcile monthly departmental credit card receipts
  • Field ad hoc marketing requests as needed

Success Profile:

To succeed as a Marketing Coordinator at Apex Clean Energy, you’ll need to excel within the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing or communications in a corporate environment; experience in the energy industry a plus but not required
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills with total attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Experience with WordPress and other communications software a plus
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize tasks to meet hard deadlines
  • Location: Willing and able to work from our Headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia

Work Environment:

Works primarily traditional office hours in an indoor office environment. Flexible work hours allowed when work duties and business operations permit.
