Job Description

Apex Clean Energy is currently adding a Learning and Development Manager to join our Human Resources Team. This role will be responsible for working across all aspects of the company to help develop, train, grow and foster all employees at every level.

Working with a high level of autonomy, the Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and delivery of training programs, workshops, offsites, practices, and procedures to all levels of the organization. This role will help determine the company needs for technical, interpersonal skills, and other individual and team development needs and then work to develop, curate, and administer all learning programs. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand, support, and advise on specific training needs by interacting with leadership and managers throughout the organization to develop specifications for course content and delivery. Will be involved in both the development and delivery of training programs to internal employees.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide Learning & Development support across all lines of business
  • Facilitates Learning & Development as an instructor, designer, business partner, and internal consultant
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and updating training on the LMS; including instructor-led training, videos, interactive eLearning, quick reference guides, etc.
  • Recommends learning solutions that influence positive / behavioral change, align with strategic business objectives, and enhance individual and organizational capability
  • Develops recommendations for changes and improvements to Learning & Development processes, ensuring alignment with company objectives and philosophy
  • Applies project management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize, manage, and complete multiple projects to achieve business objectives
  • Administer and drive engagement of all new hire and quarterly compliance training
  • Administer and drive engagement of Apex’s professional Mentorship Program


Success Profile

To succeed as a Learning and Development Manager at Apex Clean Energy, you’ll need to display excellence within the following criteria:

  • BA/BS degree in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in organizational development, learning & development, and/or human resources
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects involving numerous stakeholders and timelines
  • Experience in training delivery
  • Experience in creation of training materials
  • Applied knowledge of recognized instructional design methodologies for adult learning across a variety of learning styles and modalities
  • Experience in using digital tools and platforms to develop and deploy learning content
  • Experience using an LMS to host content, track learning activities, and report to stakeholders
  • Proven skills in problem solving, planning, and organizing
  • Proven experience demonstrating the ROI of learning and development solutions
  • High level of attention to detail

Work Environment

Works primarily traditional office hours in an indoor office environment. Flexible work hours allowed when work duties and business operations permit.
