Job Description

Apex is seeking a Facilities Associate to join our fast-paced Facilities Team, providing support across our organization. In this position you will work as an internal customer service agent responsible for stocking office supplies, snacks, miscellaneous items, and distributing incoming mail. This role is also responsible for providing general facility support by fulfilling routine light maintenance work orders; such as meeting room set up, moving office equipment and furniture, and general repairs. The ideal candidate is energetic, positive, forward thinking and highly organized, with a proven history of outstanding customer service.

We seek an action-oriented, hard-working team player who can jump in and support projects from a variety of angles, juggle tasks, take direction, and always maintain a helpful attitude. This Facilities Associate position requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and the flexibility to shift priorities on the go.

Primary Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Forwards information amongst team, by receiving and distributing documents and mail. Maintains office supply inventory by continuously monitoring stock levels. Anticipates requirements, expedites orders, verifies receipt of receivables, stocks items, and delivers supplies to work stations.
  • Monitors and replenishes break areas, conference rooms and records frequently used items.
  • Uses the internal ticketing system to address employee help requests in an efficient manner. Provides outstanding service to internal customers.
  • Delivers lunches for internal meetings.
  • Helps to prepare conference rooms for internal company events.
  • Projected work schedule is 8 am – 6 pm, Monday – Friday.


In order to succeed as a Facilities Associate at Apex Clean Energy, you’ll need to excel within the following criteria:

  • Proven history of providing outstanding customer service
  • Able to manage multiple requests in an efficient and professional manner
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Outlook
  • Must be able to remain on feet and walk amongst 4 floors on a continuous basis
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach up, or lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Confirmed ability to work collaboratively and cross-departmentally.
  • Must possess excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English proficiently
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Must be willing to work from our headquarters in Charlottesville, VA
