We hire Accounting Summer Associates that are passionate about clean energy. Our summer associates support the team in all aspects of accounting. They will also be tasked on a special project and will present their findings to the accounting team at the end of the internship. You will have the opportunity to learn about multi-layered partnership US GAAP accounting, consolidations with unique ownership structures at each level using HLBV Accounting, all within an Asset Management framework.
Accounting Summer Associate candidates will be in pursuit of either undergraduate degree in accounting, a graduate degree in accounting, or an undergraduate/graduate degree in a related field with an outstanding academic record. A desire to work in renewable energy is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills, including advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of a new ERP Accounting System for the company
- Work with AP, performing vendor reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly financial statements
- Assist in tax preparation
- An undergraduate or graduate degree candidate in a related field with outstanding academic performance
- Course work or experience in the energy industry; renewable energy experience preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism in line with Apex’s values

- The summer associate program will run from June 5 through August 11 but we can be flexible with the start and end dates
- Hours: Full Time
- Type: Non-Exempt
- Paid Internship: Undergrad $15/Hour; Grad $25/Hour
