Principal Consultant - Climate & Decarbonisation - ASEAN

We are seeking a senior climate and sustainability generalist to join our Climate Resiliency and Decarbonisation team in APAC. This is a market facing leadership role based in Singapore, suited to someone who has experience in climate and sustainability with corporates in APAC, and brings a deep network of clients and a strong desire to build and manage client relationships. You will combine technical depth with commercial acumen to confidently advise clients on carbon accounting, decarbonisation strategy, target setting and net zero pathways, while managing projects to deliver high quality outcomes. You will be supported by local and global teams of technical specialists in climate and nature consulting and business development.

This role is suited to an independent, proactive leader who is comfortable in both driving client success, pursuing business growth opportunities, and ensuring that projects are delivered to a high technical and service standard. Having a local or regional track record is a must. As climate work

fluctuates, flexibility is important, you will also support broader sustainability and advisory work across APAC when required.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Business Development

• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on carbon accounting, decarbonisation strategy, and
• climate reporting.
• Build and maintain a strong professional profile in the sustainability marketplace.
• Lead client conversations across Scope 1, 2 & 3, SBTi, and net zero roadmaps.
• Lead proposal development and contribute to business growth.
• Support strategic expansion into ASEAN markets.
• Participate in and represent Anthesis at events demonstrating climate and nature leadership
• Work closely with the APAC Climate & Nature Director to shape practice strategy, market
• priorities, and long-term growth plans.

Technical Advisory

• Lead complex GHG accounting engagements aligned with the GHG Protocol and global
• frameworks.
• Provide technical interpretation of carbon methodologies and compliance schemes.
• Deliver value added insights through strong data analytics and modelling.
• Advise on decarbonisation strategy, renewable energy procurement and emissions reduction
• initiatives.
• Familiarity with climate science, climate model interpretation, hazard datasets, and

regulatory expectations to support robust delivery.

Requirements:

• With 7+ years in climate, sustainability, or related advisory fields, or corporate experience, with
• significant experience in business development and deep networks.
• Extensive experience in carbon accounting, including Scope 1, 2 & 3 and value chain
• analysis.
• Deep knowledge of the GHG Protocol and its application in advisory contexts.
• Experience advising on SBTi aligned targets and net zero strategies in Singapore / APAC
• contexts.
• Strong data analytics capability, including advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated business development and client management expertise.
• Ability to transform complex regulatory or scientific information into clear, strategic
• recommendations and business relevant insights for senior audiences.
• Outstanding communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal—with a track record of
• winning work and building long-term client relationships.
• Relevant academic background in climate science, environmental science, sustainability, risk,
• engineering, finance, or similar.
• Eagerness to capacity build, grow, and challenge your team.
• Experience working in collaboration as part of a wider international team.
• Experience in working in or with ASEAN companies and/or clients with extensive Asian
• footprints will be highly regarded.
