Senior Consultant - GHG Accounting and Decarbonisation (Brisbane, Australia)
We are seeking a Senior Consultant for our Climate and Nature team in Australia. This role is delivery focused and requires technical project management. Anthesis is a global advisory, and our skilled people have opportunities to be deployed dynamically beyond their home countries and our clients often span the globe.
The position can be based in either Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Brisbane, Australia.

Responsibilities fall into two major areas:
Client & Project Delivery
- Project Management – managing the delivery of agreed consulting engagements / projects on time, on budget, and to high standards of quality.
- Expert input and QA – reviewing project work and providing expert viewpoint and quality assurance on deliverables as needed.
- Deliverable Drafting & Presentation – preparing and delivering high quality reports, presentations, and sometimes workshops in line with project scope.
Business Development
- Supporting the development of proposals and contributing to the presentation and conversion of these opportunities, in collaboration with the guidance and support of colleagues.
- Service development - Contributing to the development of new service offerings and/or streamlining and improving existing service offerings including creating delivery and proposal templates, providing training and acting as internal expert on a specific service.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Demonstrated consulting experience.
- Strong technical expertise in GHG accounting across scope 1,2 and 3, with proven ability to manage complex full value chain analysis.
- Experience with Climate Active (registered consultant status is a plus), SBTi methodologies and NGER reporting frameworks preferred.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science with understanding of chemical/process/environmental/industrial engineering or equivalent demonstrated understanding of mass and energy balances in industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or above is a must) for data analysis and modelling.
- Financial acumen including working knowledge of cost/benefit analysis and other financial tools including discounted cash flow analysis.
- Strong project management, written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and client education and involvement.
- Strong working knowledge of and interest in climate change and the associated emerging regulatory framework(s).
