Join our Automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) engineering team as a SW Systems Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll drive the development, testing, and integration of embedded software solutions for cutting-edge automotive & energy storage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for automotive BMS platforms (e.g., battery monitoring, diagnostics, control algorithms)
- Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and validation teams to deliver robust, production-quality software
- Implement and test safety-critical features in accordance with automotive standards (such as ISO 26262)
- Analyze system requirements and translate them into embedded software specifications and architectures
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and root cause analysis on complex software issues
- Support integration, validation, and release of software into vehicle platforms
- Document software design and development processes for compliance and traceability
- Perform lab validation using oscilloscopes, amplifiers, function generators, and other test equipment.
- Deliver high-quality products and solutions to customers, including demos, validation packages, and technical handoff.
- Collaborate in a dynamic team environment to learn and deploy best practices in application development
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development (preferably for automotive systems)
- Strong proficiency in C for real-time embedded systems (bare metal and/or RTOS)
- Experience with communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, Ethernet etc.)
- Familiarity with battery management systems, power electronics, or similar automotive domains
- Understanding of software development life cycle and configuration management tools (e.g., Git)
- Working knowledge of safety and quality standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA C)
- Direct experience with tools for requirements, tasks, and documentation management such as Jira, Jama, Confluence, or similar platforms
- Experience with microcontroller programming and debugging, using relevant automotive IDEs (e.g., IAR Embedded Workbench, Lauterbach, Keil, or similar)
- Be self-motivated, willing to take on responsibility, and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record for solving complex problems via planning, debug, data analysis and reporting.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Experience with model-based development tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink)
- Exposure to AUTOSAR architecture and toolchains
- Knowledge of functional safety, diagnostics, or cybersecurity in automotive software
- Ability to read and interpret PCB schematics and component-level hardware designs.
- Strong Python skills for scripting, test automation, or validation tasks.
