About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to lead corporate sustainability strategy, environmental initiatives, ESG programs, and long-term sustainable business development.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive executive leadership experience, strong strategic vision, and a proven ability to integrate sustainability practices into business operations while supporting organizational growth and long-term value creation.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive corporate sustainability strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the organization.
- Establish sustainability goals, performance indicators, and long-term strategic priorities.
- Oversee environmental risk management, resource efficiency, and sustainability programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, operations, technology, and compliance teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and operational sustainability.
- Develop sustainability policies, corporate responsibility programs, and internal standards.
- Monitor emerging sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and industry best practices.
- Build strategic relationships with business partners, industry organizations, and external stakeholders.
- Lead sustainability reporting, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide executive leadership and the board of directors with sustainability reports and strategic recommendations.
- At least 15 years of experience in sustainability management, environmental strategy, ESG, corporate responsibility, or related fields.
- Previous senior leadership experience as a Chief Sustainability Officer, Vice President of Sustainability, ESG Director, or comparable executive.
- Proven experience developing and implementing corporate sustainability strategies.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, ESG frameworks, sustainability reporting, and corporate governance.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex sustainability initiatives.
- Strong understanding of environmental risk management, responsible business practices, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage geographically distributed teams in a remote working environment.
- Experience in technology, industrial operations, or other growth-oriented industries is preferred.
- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
