We are seeking a highly motivated strategic finance professional to join the Strategy team. You will lead the financial analysis and support commercial structuring and financing of stationary power deployments (e.g. data centers, microgrids, behind-the-meter applications), from feasibility screening to financial close, enabling Amogy to scale deployments globally.
This is a highly visible role with direct interactions with C-level executives to make key strategic decisions and play a critical role in supporting Amogy in its hyper-growth phase. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, growth equity, Big 4 consulting/advisory, or strategic investment role in energy sector. You will be expected to work independently, taking ownership of critical initiatives, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across finance, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and services to enable deployment of Amogy’s power solutions at a greater scale. The candidate will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and collaborate closely with the CFO and other members of the leadership team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop complex financial models for energy and infrastructure projects in power generation sector using equity, debt, and other financial instruments.
- Build financial models involving equity and debt financing targeted at venture capital, growth equity, and private equity investors
- Research, evaluate, and execute on joint ventures and strategic alliances across power generation, maritime, and energy infrastructure sectors.
- Support platform-level financing by consolidating all asset valuations, preparing valuation summaries, and responding to model-related due diligence requests.
- Evaluate M&A opportunities
- Assist in analyses including regulatory or policy impact, new market entry scenarios, or structuring options under changing market conditions.
- Assist senior management with investor presentations, fundraising projects, and responses to investor inquiries
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- 7–12 years in project finance, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategic consulting - ideally within energy, cleantech, or infrastructure.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence capabilities, especially within the energy infrastructure and/or maritime sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and experience with model automation or large dataset analysis is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project finance structures and revenue components in the energy sector, including debt financing, PPA, and carbon credits.
- In-depth understanding of project agreements (PPAs, fuel supply, EPC, O&M) and their impact on financial models.
- Superb communication skills with the ability to articulate model assumptions and outputs in addition to writing investment memos.
- Effective in cross-cultural collaboration and willing to ingest various regulatory variables into financial models
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in preparing financing packages and achieving financial close for projects >$50M in capital cost.
- Proven experience in structuring, negotiating, and closing project finance transactions for infrastructure or energy projects.
