Role Overview

The Assistant Professor in Environmental Science is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, and contributing to academic development in environmental studies. The role focuses on sustainability, climate change, ecology, and environmental management, aligned with Amity’s research-driven and industry-oriented education model.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Delivery

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Environmental Science
  • Subjects may include:
  • Environmental Pollution & Control
  • Climate Change & Sustainability
  • Ecology & Biodiversity
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Prepare lectures, lab sessions, and fieldwork activities
  • Conduct examinations, assignments, and student evaluations

2. Research & Publications

  • Conduct original research in environmental science domains
  • Publish papers in reputed journals (Scopus/SCI indexed preferred)
  • Present research at conferences, seminars, and workshops
  • Apply for funded research projects and consultancy work

3. Curriculum Development

  • Design and update course content as per latest environmental issues and technologies
  • Integrate practical exposure like:
  • Field surveys
  • Environmental sampling
  • Data analysis tools
  • Align curriculum with UGC/NAAC standards

4. Student Guidance & Mentorship

  • Supervise student projects, dissertations, and internships
  • Guide students in research and career development
  • Support skill development in sustainability and environmental practices

5. Academic & Administrative Duties

  • Participate in departmental meetings and university committees
  • Assist in accreditation, quality assurance, and academic audits
  • Organize seminars, workshops, and guest lectures

6. Industry & Field Engagement

  • Collaborate with environmental agencies, NGOs, and industries
  • Facilitate field visits and real-world environmental studies
  • Contribute to consultancy and community outreach programs

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Environmental Science (mandatory or thesis submitted)
  • Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science.
