Job Purpose

The purpose of the Powertrain Group is to ensure the availability of remanufactured products, hybrid batteries, and BEV batteries to American Honda's dealers. The Purchasing Specialist EX1 in the Small Core group is the primary liaison with AHM’s parts supplier network to ensure availability of finished goods and component parts, including cores, to support remanufacturing operations. The specialist has a working knowledge of the supplier network, internal Honda operations; sound understanding of activities necessary to support manufacturing functions and the development of initiatives to improve supplier performance. The specialist’s responsibilities include timely forecasting of projected inventory needs and order placement to meet dealer demand and to achieve divisional goals for dealer service level, supplier delivery performance, inventory levels, new model parts activities, and minimization of backorders through effective supplier management.  Good working relationships with suppliers, core management, and special projects are additional requirements of the position.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • BA/BS in Business or equivalent work experience
  • 2 to 4 years experience in a procurement capacity (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
