Ameresco is currently seeking a Fuel Yard/Boiler Operator to join our Biomass Co-Generation plant located at the Savannah River Site outside of Aiken, SC.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily operations including daily logs of fuel yard, boilers, and turbine generator.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, basic care routes and basic preventative maintenance of power plant equipment.
  • Drive a heavy equipment including, bobcat, forklift, front end loader, and Lull.
  • Operate controls of a Stacker Reclaimer.
  • Operate power plant equipment in the field and in control room via DCS. Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, regulatory and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
  • Ensure environmental compliance in areas assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with operations and troubleshooting of industrial equipment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an entry badge to the Savannah River Site

Additional Qualifications:

  • Power plant experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete position training and testing requirements
  • Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
  • Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing
  • May be required for 'on call' support or varied schedule needs
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs & transport equipment & tools in excess of 300 lbs
  • Ability to routinely climb ladders, walk up and down sloped ramps and work on elevated platforms
  • Ability to work rotating shift on days, nights, weekends, and holidays
