What You Will Do:
SQM is the process of monitoring a supplier’s ability to meet the customer’s needs. SQM measures supply chain performance using a proactive and collaborative approach.
To Master SQM:
- Companies have to hit a few targets
- First you need to foster positive relationships with suppliers throughout your who supply chain.
- Need to develop an organized supplier quality management procedure with easy-to track metrics for success regarding quality and compliance.
- Once you’ve nailed your metrics and procedures, its time to start tracking the data to dig up supplier insights.
- The trends you find in these insights will help you understand how well suppliers are meeting the needs of API and its customers across the who supply chain.
- Relationships with suppliers plan a bigger role in SQM than you might think. To establish an effective SQM process, you need strong trust, as well as the ability to exchange expertise and resources across expansive supply chains.
- Working together also required both parties to understand their role in the process.
The ideal candidate understands the requirements for Ambient’s products and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers. The goal is to help enhance our reputation by ensuring that our products and services exceed customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions
- Providing outstanding leadership for Ambient Photonics by developing world-class Quality systems and processes that support our growth and meet the requirements of our suppliers.
- Serve as an internal advocate for adherence to internal and customers’ quality standards throughout Ambient’s operations.
- Understand and document supplier needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Devise and review specifications for components
- Collaborate with QMS in support the certification and maintenance for ISO 9001 and 140001 standards
- Set requirements for raw material and intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance
- Train team members on modern quality control methods and use of industrial statistics
- Supervise and guide quality engineers, inspectors, technicians.
- Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
- Submit detailed reports to appropriate executives
- Identify and explore opportunities for improvement and develop new, more efficient procedures

Required Qualifications & Competencies
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager
- Conscientious and responsible
- A sharp eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office and stats packages (JMP, MVPstats, etc.)
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
- Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
- BSc/BA in Quality Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant field is required
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Ambient Photonics does not offer any visa sponsorship
- Ambient does not offer (in country) relocation support
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
- Industrial experience in similar positions in PCB, PCBA, Displays, IC or solar cells
