The Team Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) Environmental, Technical and Sustainability (ETS) Services has an exciting opportunity to join a growing firm. A&M is an established leader in providing global leadership and advisory services to diverse industries. ETS is seeking a dynamic Director or Senior Director to shape sustainability strategy engagements for corporate and private equity clients. This role is designed for a seasoned leader with a passion for driving transformative sustainability initiatives that mitigate risks, optimize operations, and enhance business value. This position will spearhead efforts across a range of sustainability focus areas, including compliance and regulatory readiness, decarbonization and climate risk management, sustainable supply chain risk management, governance, and other critical domains. This role can be based in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Other locations may be considered. What will you be doing? As a Director or Senior Director, you will have the opportunity to work with our highly motivated and effective team of professionals on a variety of sustainability projects across industries including but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, chemical, transportation and industrial services as well as healthcare, software & technology, energy, and financial services. You will provide our clients with an integrated sustainability strategy that goes beyond traditional sustainability analyses, empowering clients to address their most pressing challenges. By aligning sustainability initiatives with core business objectives, you will help clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes to ensure compliance with evolving sustainability standards, implement practical climate risk mitigation and decarbonization strategies, and design optimized and sustainable supply chain programs. Additionally, you will help clients meet stakeholder expectations, enhance sustainability performance, improve ESG ratings, and fortify governance frameworks to mitigate risks and bolster long-term business resilience. By identifying and leveraging sustainability opportunities, you will help clients optimize their operations and create measurable business value. Our integrated approach combines deep operational, functional, and industry expertise to deliver tailored solutions that drive meaningful impact for our clients. Responsibilities will include:-  Effectively manage day-to-day client interaction and relationships and continue to emphasize the capabilities of A&M to clients, including: 
- Identify potential sustainability risks and execute implementation strategies.
 - Identify and leverage sustainability opportunities to optimize operations and enhance business value.
 - Guide clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and ensuring compliance with evolving sustainability standards and customer/client requirements.
 - Strengthen governance frameworks and enhance business resilience.
 - Generate climate risk reports aligned with TCFD/ISSB framework.
 
 - Manage and prioritize engagements and responsibilities appropriately.
 - Effectively handles all relationship matters with clients, with limited Managing Director involvement.
 - Manage multiple chargeable and non-chargeable projects of varying size and complexity. Manages client relationships and meeting/exceeding client expectations.
 - Contribute to sales pursuits by generating new client business and/or adding on business from current client. Assist Managing Directors and other Senior Directors in sales and business development efforts.
 - Display a core understanding of all ETS services (diligence and strategy) and strive to cross-sell TAG and other A&M services, as opportunities arise.
 - Develop and propose creative solutions to engagement and transaction risks and effectively manage problem resolution.
 - Help engagement executives in maximizing the value the client is receiving from A&M (i.e., monitors engagement leverage, efficiency of staff).
 - Proactively train, develop and mentor individuals of mid/junior levels for TAG ETS Team.
 - Abide by risk management guidelines and engagement review memo procedures.
 - Appropriately manage engagement risk and potential client or engagement issues.
 
- A minimum of 10 years of sustainability/ESG consulting and/or industry experience
 - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, sustainability or and/or related major
 - Working knowledge of Sustainability Reporting Frameworks and Standards, including GHG Protocol
 - Understanding of private equity markets and value creation levers throughout the investment lifecycle
 - Proven success in developing and implementing strategic sustainability programs
 - High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI
 - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate to senior members of client management and colleagues
 - Strong project management skills
 - Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor
 - Ability to thrive and be effective in entrepreneurial setting
