Location: Bangalore, India

Experience: 3–7 years of experience in partnerships, communications, ecosystem building, consulting, climate, or adjacent roles. We’re looking for someone who combines strong execution ability with thoughtful communication and high ownership.

About Alt Carbon:

Alt Carbon is a deeptech science and data company, building agri-infrastructure for climate action. We aim to make South Asia a hub for Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) through technology pathways like Enhanced Rock Weathering and Biochar. We work with farmers and scientists across the Global South to turn underutilized land into carbon sinks.

Our flagship initiative, the Darjeeling Revival Project (DRP), is a first-of-its-kind effort to unite climate action with cultural and ecological restoration - by reviving degraded soils, restoring livelihoods, and rebuilding ecosystems. This year, we also launched the Bengal Renaissance Project (BRP), a large-scale biochar program that is building a network of biomass banks, pyrolysis, and gasification plants across Eastern India, with a mission to weave hope back into the lands of India.

Rooted in science, powered by community, and driven by the belief that revivals require ambition and audacious bets, our mission is to remove 5 million metric tons of CO₂ by 2030.

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Partnerships Manager to support and eventually own key external-facing work at Alt Carbon.

This is a cross-functional role across partnerships, customer intelligence, stakeholder management, events, ecosystem building, and strategic communications. You will help Alt Carbon understand the carbon removal market, engage with the right buyers and partners, build meaningful relationships across the CDR ecosystem, and create high-quality experiences that bring people closer to our work.

You will work closely with the partnerships, content, science, operations, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication skills, be an avid reader, and have knowledge about the domain we operate in — carbon removal/climate tech.

What You’ll Do:

1. Build industry and customer intelligence

Track developments across carbon removal, climate policy, buyer sectors, RFPs, partnerships, and market opportunities. Build sharp internal briefs, sector notes, buyer maps, and CRM intelligence to support outreach and decision-making.

2. Manage CDR ecosystem relationships

Support and grow relationships with buyers, registries, marketplaces, brokers, rating agencies, investors, journalists, and climate ecosystem partners. Help maintain regular communication, prepare meeting briefs, and drive follow-ups.

3. Lead Alt Carbon events and partner experiences

Plan and execute open houses, buyer visits, private dinners, field immersions, tea tastings, science showcases, and ecosystem gatherings. Own guest experience, logistics, programming support, communication, and post-event follow-through.

4. Own Alt Futures

Drive the planning and execution of Alt Carbon’s flagship carbon removal convening. Manage speakers, guests, partners, programming, timelines, logistics, communications, and on-ground execution.

5. Support Alter Magazine launches

Alter Magazine is Alt Carbon’s monthly journal bringing to the world new literary writing on Science, Technology, and Progress, from South Asia. As part of the role, you will need to help bring each Alter issue to life through thoughtful launch events. Take care of venue selection, guest lists, speaker coordination, programming, partner outreach, and event execution around each issue’s theme.

6. Create high-quality customer and partner touchpoints

Work with science, operations, content, and leadership teams to translate Alt Carbon’s work into clear partner updates, field visit materials, communication kits, decks, and relationship-building moments and help build a culture of white-glove stakeholder engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3–7 years of experience in partnerships, events, customer success, stakeholder engagement, communications, consulting, climate, or related roles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research deeply, synthesize clearly, and turn information into useful briefs or action points
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders, including CXOs, investors, policymakers, scientists, and ecosystem partners
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams across events, relationships, research, and communication
  • High agency, ownership mindset, and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment
  • Curiosity about climate, carbon removal, agriculture, science, policy, and business
  • Strong taste for thoughtful experiences, hospitality, storytelling, and community building
  • Willingness to travel for events, field visits, and partner engagements
