Our client is a leading sustainable engineering consultancy with an established international reputation for innovation and environmental excellence. Driven by market expansion and significant demand for net-zero and sustainable infrastructure solutions, they are now seeking to appoint a Business Development Director to lead their growth strategy across the UK.

The Role

• Will report directly to the Board and take full strategic oversight for identifying, securing, and developing high-value client opportunities across the UK sustainable engineering sector.
• Will lead senior-level client engagement, building long-term strategic partnerships with developers, infrastructure owners, public sector bodies, and corporate clients.
• Will collaborate closely with technical directors and regional leadership teams to translate market intelligence into targeted business development campaigns and winning framework bids.
• Will mentor and support wider commercial teams, driving key account management strategies and embedding a strong business development culture across the consultancy.

The Person

• Will ideally be educated to degree level in engineering, environmental studies or a relevant commercial discipline, with a proven track record of business development leadership in the UK consultancy market.
• Will possess a deep understanding of the sustainable engineering landscape, including decarbonisation strategies, green building, renewable energy, or sustainable infrastructure.
• Will demonstrate exceptional networking and relationship-building capabilities with a proven ability to secure high-value contracts and frameworks.
• Will be a natural leader with a proactive approach, keen to join a growing business where success is recognised and rewarded.
