Sustainability Specialist
AKSA, a company of Akkök Holding, was founded in 1968 in Yalova. Becoming the world’s largest producer of acrylic fiber over the years, Aksa today serves approximately 300 customers in over 50 countries across 5 continents. Having a capacity of 350.000 tons per year, Aksa supplies raw materials for textiles and technical textiles in many diverse areas.
We are seeking a Sustainability Specialist to join our team to develop and implement our sustainability strategy, improve our environmental performance, and effectively manage our sustainability reporting processes.
Qualities We Are Looking For;
•Graduated from Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or related departments,
•Preferably at least 2 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, climate change, energy management, or carbon management,
•Knowledgeable about the calculation, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions,
•Familiar with sustainability standards and initiatives such as TSRS 1, TSRS 2, GRI, CDP, and the UN Global Compact, or willing to develop expertise in these areas,
•Keeps up to date with sustainability legislation, EU regulations, and sustainability-focused developments,
•Strong data analysis, reporting, and documentation skills,
•Good command of English,
•Capable of effective communication and coordination with various departments and stakeholders,
•Strong project management, task tracking, and organizational skills,
•Able to take initiative, result-oriented, and a team player.
Your main tasks are;
•Supporting the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy, goals, and action plans,
•Conducting data collection, analysis, and reporting activities in accordance with standards such as TSRS 1 and TSRS 2, GRI, CDP, UN Global Compact, and others,
•Coordinating the preparation of the sustainability report and the process of obtaining necessary data from relevant departments,
•Supporting the calculation, monitoring, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,
•Contributing to the assessment and management of climate change risks and opportunities,
•Monitoring sustainability legislation and international regulations and evaluating their impact on company operations,
•Tracking and analyzing sustainability performance indicators (KPIs) and identifying areas for improvement,
•Supporting supply chain sustainability and Scope 3 initiatives, supplier assessments, and data collection processes,
•Coordinating sustainability-related information requests from customers, investors, rating agencies, and other stakeholders,
•Preparing the data and documentation required for audit, verification, and assurance processes,
•Preparing management reports, presentations, and analyses regarding sustainability performance,
•Contributing to training and communication efforts aimed at raising sustainability awareness within the company,
•Working in coordination with sustainability working groups and relevant departments.
