? Job description:

We are currently supporting a Swiss climate-technology company specialising in the permanent, geological storage of biogenic CO₂ via mineralisation in demolished concrete.

The company operates across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and France, and sells verified Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) certificates to corporate buyers.

?️ Your responsibilities:

The contingent engineer will be responsible for delivering a Process Engineering Package for a CO₂ compression, storage, and injection facility. The package covers the following work items:

1 Process Description

Prepare a comprehensive Process Description covering:

• Purpose and basis of the plant;

• Feed and product specifications with physical properties;

• Operating data and ranges (temperatures, pressures, flow rates);

• Battery limit conditions; and

• Plant location and climatic data.

2.Process Flow Diagram (PFD) with Mass & Energy Balances

Develop a fully annotated PFD including:

• All main equipment and machinery with tag numbers;

• Main process lines with flow direction arrows;

• Incoming and outgoing product and auxiliary streams;

• Numbered flow reference points for all important streams; and

• Main control loops for process and safety purposes.

Balance documentation shall include flow rates, operating conditions (P, T, density), auxiliary

flows, volumetric flows, enthalpies of main streams, and electricity consumption of key

equipment.

3 Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)

Produce detailed P&IDs covering:

• All process equipment, pumps, and interconnecting piping with tag numbers;

• Control loops, sensor locations, and final control elements;

• Main piping with nominal diameters;

• Control valves, on/off valves, PRVs, drains, vents, analysis points, steam traps, and

strainers;

• Utility and process inlets/outlets;

• Process-critical equipment and piping arrangements (elevations, slopes); and

• Insulation and heat tracing requirements where applicable.

4 Equipment Specifications

Prepare equipment specifications for tanks, vaporisers, and compressors, including:

• Equipment list (tag number, service, nominal capacity/size, material of construction,

design T & P); and

• Technical specification sheets for each item.

? Profile:

1 Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent;

• Minimum 5 years of process engineering experience in industrial gas, CO₂, or

comparable process industries;

• Proven track record of delivering process engineering packages (PFDs, P&IDs,

equipment specs, mass & energy balances) to EPC or FEED standard;

• Hands-on experience with DWSIM or equivalent process simulation software;

• Proficiency in Autodesk (AutoCAD Plant 3D or equivalent) for P&ID drafting; and

• Fluent working-level English.

2 Desirable Experience

• Experience with CO₂ compression, liquefaction, or geological injection systems;

• Familiarity with European pressure equipment regulations (PED) and relevant safety

standards;

• Experience working within or alongside climate-tech or carbon capture projects; and

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced scale-up

environment.

3 Soft Skills & Working Style

• Strong self-organisation and ability to manage deliverable schedules;

• Clear written and verbal communication suitable for technical and management

audiences;

• Collaborative approach with small cross-functional teams; and

• Comfort with ambiguity and evolving project scope typical of pilot / first-of-a-kind
