Vice President of Product & Application Engineering

Airswift is working in partnership with a rapidly growing energy technology company to find a VP of Product & Application Engineering.

This senior leadership role will drive product vision, strategy, and execution across an innovative energy solutions portfolio. The successful candidate will take ownership of a multi-year product roadmap , optimize next-generation designs, and lead a team responsible for integrating hardware and software across inverters, energy storage, power management, and EMS/VPP platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize product requirements informed by market, partner, and installer insights.
  • Develop and execute a clear multi-year product strategy and roadmap aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of current offerings and guide next-generation system architecture.
  • Integrate inverter engineering, energy storage system design, power-flow management, and EMS/VPP software into a cohesive product platform.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, service, supply chain, operations, and legal teams to ensure successful product delivery.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 8+ years in product management within energy storage, inverter systems, electrical power management, or EMS software.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of inverter design principles, battery storage architecture, power supply/demand logic, and control software.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and convert field insights into product decisions.
  • Visionary Mindset: Up-to-date with technology trends and capable of shaping future product roadmaps.
  • Preferred: Experience in C&I or utility-scale energy projects (DER, VPP, Microgrid), AI/machine learning, or data-driven product development.

Location & Travel

  • If not local, expect up to 50% travel.
