Responsibilities:
Manage the implementation of the HKIA Carbon Management Programme and the Third HKIA Net Zero Carbon Pledge through close coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Manage carbon auditing for business partners participating in the HKIA Net Zero Carbon Pledge
Manage external verification process to ensure a high level of attainment, particularly in relation to the Airport Councils International Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme.
Manage the HKIA Business Partner Support Programme, including capacity building, technology working groups, governance arrangements, and green innovation fund.
Scope and manage new carbon reduction pilots and studies through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop business case studies to demonstrate the environmental, economic, regulatory, and stakeholder benefits of carbon reduction initiatives.
Drive thought leadership on new climate change topics and participate in forums to exchange and share best practices.
Develop and update the Authority’s Environmental Sustainability Plan, and provide support to internal departments in implementing the plan.
Support the evaluation of green design of various airport development projects in line with the Authority’s Green Airport Design Strategy, with a particular focus on climate resilience and carbon reduction.
Support the Authority’s participation in external environmental and sustainability activities, events and programmes, including ESG ratings, ISO 14001 third party monitoring process, participation in conference presentations and industry body meetings.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability or other related disciplines
Qualification as a Certified Carbon Auditor is required
Minimum 8 years’ relevant working experience in sustainability, preferably with solid experience in the development and implementation of climate change programmes and other environmental initiatives
Proven experience in contract management, procurement procedure handling, and the preparation and delivery of presentations.
Proven track record in liaison and engagement with internal and external stakeholders
Solid planning and project management capabilities
A self‑disciplined team player with strong interpersonal and staff management skills, as well as a high level of motivation
Ability to think strategically and pragmatically
Excellent command of both written and spoken English & Chinese (i.e. Cantonese & Putonghua)
Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
