Role Description The Design Manager will lead and oversee solar project design activities, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and alignment with project objectives. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for managing a design team, allocating workloads, reviewing drawings and technical documentation, and coordinating with project management, EPC, and field execution teams. The role includes developing and optimizing system layouts, conducting design feasibility assessments, and integrating digital tools and platforms into the design workflow. The Design Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to resolve design-related issues, support bid and proposal documentation, and maintain quality and safety standards throughout the design process. The position also involves mentoring team members, implementing best practices, and supporting continuous improvement in design processes over the long term.

Qualifications

• Strong solar engineering and design capabilities, including experience with rooftop and utility-scale solar plant design and related technical standards.
• Proficiency in design and drafting tools (e.g., CAD software, PV design tools, layout and electrical design applications) and ability to work with digital platforms.
• Demonstrated project management and team leadership skills, including workload planning, cross-functional coordination, and on-time delivery of design outputs.
• Solid understanding of EPC processes, site feasibility, grid connectivity, and regulatory/compliance requirements in the renewable energy sector.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable, or related field); a master’s degree or relevant certifications in solar design or project management is an advantage.
